PROSTITUTION OFFERED AS A ' PROFESSIONAL COURSE' IN SPANISH SCHOOLS
According to Daily Mail, a Spanish firm offering a professional course in prostitution which it says 'guarantees a job offer on graduation,' has survived its firstlegal challenge to be closed down.
For €100, students are taught the history of the world's oldest profession, how to use Intimate toys and the most popular positions contained within the Kama Sutra.
The school began advertising the course in May, but within weeks the Valencian regional government filed a case with prosecutors, alleging that the school promoted prostitution, which is illegal in Spain....
But yesterday prosecutors said there was not any evidence that a criminal offence had been committed because advertisements for students did not promote prostitution, constitute fraud and were not aimed at minors, reported The Times.
The venture has attracted much criticism in the predominantly Catholic country, with many saying it is the wrong way to tempt cash-strapped Spaniards back into work.
But the Valencian firm, which flooded the city's university campuswith promotional flyers, says it will make the trade safer.
It will also ensure budding sex-workers will not fall foul of the law, with in depth descriptions of the industry's laws and how to work around them.
Brandon, who has run the one-week course for eight years, said: 'They will know what they are getting in to.
'Prostitution is a career that many people live off from day to day, whether they are single or have a partner.'
He added that 95 people, from the age of 19 to 45, had signed up to the diploma - which takes up two hours each day.
And, once they graduate, they receive their first job offer - to become a teacher in the 'school' where they can help in practical classes.
What they learn in the series of theory and practical classes will enable them to 'earn a lot of money, very easily and quickly', according to the ABC newspaper.
Esther Lopez Barcelo, a United Left MP in Valencia, said the party was considering appealing the ruling.
Sex is a multibillion-pound industry in Spain, with colourfully lit brothels staffed mainly by poor immigrant women from Latin America, Africa and eastern Europe lining highways throughout the country.

We all know Kanye and Kim have a TON of rich friends -- hopefully, they'll actually follow directions.
GHANAIAN STARS IGNORED AT AMAA AWARDS IN NIGERIA
Latest information coming in from Nigeria indicates that the Ghanaian delegation of actors, producers and filmmakers who attended the ninth edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) in Nigeria over the weekend was completely ignored, snubbed and left high and dry by the organisers.
Though the Ghanaian delegation were officially invited to the event, and the members were assured that they would be chauffeured from the hotel to the red-carpet opening ceremony, which was to start at exactly 5:00 p.m last Saturday, no vehicle came for the group until it eventually had to plead with Yvonne Okoro to use her Nigerian 'connection' to arrange a vehicle.
Again, when the Ghanaian delegation, including actor Kofi Adjorlolo, Eddie Nartey, Prince David Osei, Yvonne Okoro and several others entered the auditorium, they were shocked to realize that no seating arrangement had been made for them.
"I was invited as a special guest and was told that I would be presenting an award, but when we got there, the organizers could not get us seats. They packed us together and made us perch behind the bandsmen and their instruments.
"We protested that we are distinguished invited guests from Ghana and that we deserve to sit at the front row but not behind bandsmen. Eventually, they found us seats at the front, but that also came with its own drama. It was as if we were not even in the room because our presence was not acknowledged, and not even Yvonne Okoro, who was competing for an award had her presence acknowledged.
We just sat there like some gate-crashers and I was not even called to present the award for which I flew all the way to Nigeria," actor Prince David Osei confirmed in a telephone interview last Sunday.
Interestingly, reports from Nigeria said the Ghanaians were the most cheered on the red carpet, but the treatment they received from the organizers was the exact opposite. Previous AMAA editions have not been so as delegations from all the participating countries were treated like stars and their presence acknowledged at the event.

I MISS DEJO RICHARDS--ACTRESS MONALISA CHINDA
When it comes to beauty in Nollywood, one of the names that will quickly come to mind is that of Monalisa Chinda. The Port Harcourt, Rivers State-born screen diva commands the beauty that can also make a man to always eat the 'apple of wisdom'.
But the unfortunate thing about her is that she is presently living alone. Her marriage to Dejo Richards packed up few years ago due to some irreconcilable differences . While she alleged that Dejo physically abused her in the marriage, those in the camp of her ex-husband denied that, alleging that she caused the seperation.
Though Dejo has since married another woman, Monalisa has remained unmarried, though she was recently romantically linked with Lagos socialite, Lanre Nzeribe. The relationship is being kept under the carpet with none of the two denying or confirming the romance tale.
In a recent interview, Monalisa confessed her regrets having to raise the only product of her marriage with Dejo Richards. The union produced Tamar, a beautiful daughter.
According to the UNIPORT Theatre Arts graduate, “one thing I regret most is the fact that I am divorced. That's the only thing I regret, having to raise my child without the father.”
She further added that, “it is a bit painful. But I have to live with it. It's better that way than to expose my little daughter to all sorts of domestic violence. It will definitely affect her upbringing. She will be dis-functional. God knows the best. Maybe, I should have been more careful.”

KENYA'S CATHOLIC CHURCH AFFIRMS STAND AGAINST CONDOM USE
The Catholic Church in Kenya on Sunday reaffirmed its stand against the use of condoms.
The head of Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri in
central Kenya, Archbishop Peter Kairo, said the position of the church
was clearly against the use of condoms.
“As the Catholic Church we are not promoting use
of condoms. I don’t agree with the advertisements on the billboards and
newspapers that say Catholics believe in sex which is sacred and that
they believe in using condoms,” said Archbishop Kairo.
He was reacting to an advertisement which appeared on the Sunday Nation newspaper.
The advertisement was run by Catholics for Choice movement advocating for use of condoms.
The advertisement was run by Catholics for Choice movement advocating for use of condoms.
The advert attempts to redefine church teachings
on condoms and what it means to be a good Catholic faithful. “Good
Catholics use condoms,” the advertisement stated.
Archbishop Kairo said the church is advocating for
chastity and fidelity among couples as the best way to stop the spread
of sexually transmitted diseases.
“We as Christians should learn how to live
respecting each other in the holy sacrament of marriage and I urge the
youths to respect and guard themselves in our day-today as the world is
not the same as the olden times,” he said.
The Catholic Church faithful, he said, should be
on the front line in promoting chastity; one man one wife and
faithfulness in marriages.
The Archbishop stated that the Catholic Church did not comply in any way with the campaign dubbed “Good Catholics Use Condoms.”
This comes after worldwide public education
efforts to raise public awareness about the devastating effects of the
Catholic bishops’ ban on condoms.
CHEETAH ATTACKS BOTSWANA PRESIDENT
GABORONE, Botswana, April 29 (UPI) -- A cheetah attack nearly cost Botswana President Ian Khama his eye, members of his presidential office said.
Government spokesman Jeff Ramsey said Khama was attacked last week by a cheetah at the Botswana Defense Force barracks as the animal was being fed in its pen, the Sunday Standard reported Monday.
The cheetah jumped up at Khama, catching him and his bodyguard by surprise, and clawed the president on the face, the spokesman said
Ramsay described the incident as "a freak accident, but not an attack."
He said the cheetah attacked the president because it was excited.
Khama received a couple of stitches, the spokesman said.
"The bodyguard was present but like I already said, this was just a freak accident," Ramsay said in an email to the Sunday Standard, explaining that Khama occasionally checks on the animals.

REPORTER YEMISI CALLS ACTRESS CHIOMA CHUKWUKA AN IGBO BITCH ON AMAA FLIGHT FROM PORT HARCOURT
THIS IS HOW VANGUARD REPORTED IT
RECALLING what happened between Chioma Akpotha and Yemisi (The Vanguard reporter) on the AMAA flight from Port Harcourt, one would have expected a cultured woman to be contrite and apologize forthwith, since everybody is error-prone. I crave your indulgence to say this not because the former is a movie star and the latter a journalist. More so, I dread not to raise my voice for the truth and my compassion against injustice.
It was quite unfortunate to read a report from today’s Vanguard Online in favour of Yemisi (their staff), as against Chioma Akpotha who was publicly insulted alongside every Igbo speaking individual on that flight, by Yemisi. Besides, if some of us do have the franchise to suffer disharmony with our personal values, I still want to believe that in reporting a case, Professional Journalism should keep it quite professional by not identifying with any side in an issue of this manner. But this is obviously not the case of the Vanguard reporter who wrote the story between Chioma Akpotha and Yemisi. The reporter in question has proven to me that fiction can sometimes make a better job of the truth and an exaggerated relativism.
Exaggerated relativisim
How could you in every sense of professionalism start a story involving your fellow reporter and Chioma Akpotha by saying “Like most Nollywood stars, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha is not given to pretence. She’s always ready to vibrate and return fire-for-fire. Last Sunday evening was not different. Smarting from the frustration and exhaustion that greeted everyone after the AMAA awards and the endless wait at the Port-Harcourt International Airport, Chioma boarded the evening flight back to Lagos, determined to cause another stir on board”.
Determined to cause another stir on board? I am 100 per cent convinced that even a blind reader could perceive that your biased and fully loaded rifle was well targeted at the Nollywood actress from the very beginning of your report. My dear journalist (the almighty one with the ability to make and kill the career that was given by God), what happened to being objective and giving equal space to all sides in your news gathering?
So the best you could do to justify your false report was to hide the identity of the Vanguard reporter by concluding thus: “A quarrel ensued between herself and a Lagos based female journalist, which caused the actress to loose [sic] her temper in a manner that attracted the attention of everyone on board. But for the fact that she was on board, the visibly angry Chioma would have done the unexpected.
She claimed that the journalist was rude to her, adding that most painfully, she “called me Igbo bitch and all that’. I wouldn’t blame her because AMAA brought us together. I can conveniently pay her salary,” she fumed. Who cares!”
Now would you really like to know who cares? AY cares! And yes I was on that same flight like many other industry people including a good number of foreigners who flew in to be a part of AMAA 2013.
The poor Chioma only succeeded in getting her multiple visa of becoming a “lousy bitch” when Yemisi was brushing through the president of Eko International Film Festival, Mr. Hope Obioma Opara. She was obviously in a hurry to make the exit when the flight touched ground. All Chioma said to her was “take it easy they are yet to open the exit door”.
She brushed her way through to two other ladies who sat in front; the next word that came out of her mouth was “lousy Igbo girls”. Apparently, Chioma heard what she said and asked “did you just refer to me as a Lousy Igbo girl? The best response from your Yemisi was “what if I did?” (I am so sure she wouldn’t ask an Angelina Jolie or a Kim Kardashian that same question if she were to be on the same flight with any of them.
Perhaps she would have started twitting immediately, saying “AMAA things…. Kim just asked me to take it easy, they are yet to open the exit door. Wow wow wow 2013 my year of exit opening doors”). But definitely not to a Nollywood multiple awards winning happily married actress with kids. Chioma Akpotha, Grace Ama, and Nollywood producer Chinwe Egwuagu were still busy playing catch-up with Yemisi when she went on target again like the Boston Bombers to launch another verbal bullet.
This time she called them ‘LOUSY BITCHES’.
Chioma Akpotha managed to get off the bomb scene through the help of some of us who were on hand to stop the detonation of further bombs by Yemisi. Not even knowing she was a journalist from The Vanguard Newspapers, Chioma said “I will allow my God to fight you. It’s even possible that it is an Igbo person that is paying your salary. I wouldn’t blame you because AMAA brought us together. I am sure that I can convincingly pay your salary”.
For your information, Chioma Akpotha did not deserve all she got from your colleague ‘Yemisi’, whom you have proudly disguised or baptized to become a Lagos based Journalist. Who knows? Maybe by tomorrow “Miss Lagos based Journalist” could go through another baptism of fire to become “According to a reliable source”, all in the name of bringing down a fellow creation to the excitement of your colleague who ought to go to God and ask for forgiveness.
I hope she did not forget to let you into the corrective measures I gave to her? I am not a fan of anyone with uncultured attitude and public display of visible arrogance. Kindly ask her to remind you, so that I will not fail to be on your list of the next set of career-killing candidates. Or should I tell you the opinion of others concerning Yemisi on that same flight?
I guess there won’t be any need for that, because I am very sure of us having many more LOUSY BITCHES cut across the Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Ghanaians, South Africans and Americans on that AMAA flight. I would intentionally skip the question of the speedy hibernation in tribal cocoons, which is indeed unfortunate even as we try to push for a more detribalized mindset. (Please don’t mistake me for an Igbo man or take it that I am fighting for my “IGBO LOUSY BITCHES”. I am a full-blooded Yoruba Man like Yemisi)
Finally, my dear Madam Yemisi, kindly permit me to point out that contrition is a sign of strength, not weakness. To my “Amiable honorable I must defend my colleague till death”, I would like to plead with you in your capacity as a widely followed public reporter, to kindly grant objectivity its rightful place in your reports.
‘A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.’ But three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth. May we bear in mind that the Internet and social media have come to stay. We now have millions of followers who would at least hear our own side of the story before we are judged or criticized.

HOMOSEXUALS STABS PARTNER TO DEATH--POLICE ARRESTS NEIGHBOURS
The Lagos State Police Command has started investigation into the murder of a banker, Adindu Ohamara, who was stabbed to death by his suspected homosexual lover in Akoka, Bariga Local Council Development Area of Lagos State. It was gathered that Ohamara lived in a three-bedroom flat with his elder sister, Flora and one Collins, an undergraduate of the University of Lagos. According to residents, the banker was stabbed repeatedly at his residence located at 26 Obayan Street. PUNCH Metro learnt that Ohamara, who was believed to be a homosexual, was fond of bringing different men, who were also believed to be into same sex relationship, to his home.
It was learnt that trouble started when he (Ohamara) decided to get married due to pressure from his family. A resident, who craved anonymity, said after the banker had his wedding introduction, a man, believed to be also a gay came to fight him. He said, “A few weeks ago, Ohamara did his wedding introduction and shortly after that, one man came to the compound to fight him. There was a lot of noise over the issue and even neighbours had to come to settle the matter. “The unidentified man complained that he had been jilted and threatened to deal with Ohamara before he left in anger.”
Our correspondent learnt that on April 9, 2013, the banker returned home with a man, who allegedly stabbed him at midnight and left. According to police sources, hours before the incident, Collins went to Oharama’s room where he met the stranger sitting on Oharama’s bed, discussing with him. A domestic worker in the house, who craved anonymity, said he saw the suspect fleeing with a laptop at midnight. He said, “It was a Friday evening. Ohamara came home with the man and they went inside. I went to sleep but at midnight, I saw the man carrying a laptop and then he opened the gate and left. He did not run so I was not suspicious. “Around 4am, Collins and Flora started shouting for help. A neighbour came to help them and they took him into his Toyota Camry and drove to a hospital.”
It was learnt that Ohamara was taken to Jonken Hospital from where he was referred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital Idi Araba where he was confirmed dead. The matter, it was learnt, was reported at the Sabo Police Division but was later referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department,Yaba. Our correspondent, who visited the house on Monday, learnt that the police later arrested all the adult occupants of the building, including the security guard identified only as Kazeem. The policemen allegedly demanded N350,000 from each of the detained persons before they could be released. The landlord of the property, Yemi Oketola, said the deceased had issued him two post-dated cheques as payment for his rent.
Oketola on hearing of the arrest of his other tenants, visited the SCID and appealed to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Damilola Adegbuyi, for their release. He said, “I do not live in the house but immediately I got wind of the incident, I went to the SCID and I met with the DCP in charge. I complained that a neighbour, who took Ohamara to the hospital ,was arrested. The DCP promised that my tenants would be released. “When I went to see the Investigating Police Officer, he informed me that the cost of bailing each person was N350, 000. I called the DCP and he was very angry when he heard about the demand. He said he would make sure that the tenants were released.”
When contacted on the telephone, the spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the murder. Braide however said she could not confirm if the deceased was a homosexual or not. She said, “According to information I got at the SCID Homicide unit, there are only two suspects in custody, the deceased’s sister (Flora) and the UNILAG student (Collins). I am not aware of any other arrests. “Also, I am not aware of any N350, 000 bail because bail is free. Investigations are ongoing and we will get to the bottom of it.”

MY MUM ADVISED ME TO GO INTO PROSTITUTION SO AS TO MAKE ENDS MEET--QUEEN KAFFY
Curse her or lampoon her, Kaffy, the dance queen is not moved, neither is she going to deny it that, she was once encouraged into prostitution by her mother. When they say wonders shall never end, some people may not readily understand until they hear some life testimonies that leave the mouth agape, such is the candid disclosure of popular dancer and musician Kafayat popularly known as Kaffy.
She dropped the bombshell about how her mother nearly made her go into prostitution so as to make ends meet. The talented dancer revealed this while she was addressing a group of youths at a programme held not too long ago.
She divulged this while encouraging the young minds at the event to learn how to read between the lines so that they won’t be guided because sometimes, the people that they look up to may be the one that will lead them astray.
The talented mother of two, also disclosed that she had to pay her way through school as she did not attend the conventional school that every other child attends because she had to wait for the regular school goers to close from school so that she could borrow their books and cover up but luck smiled on her when she made a record for herself and country at Amstel Malta World Marathon Dance, by breaking the existing record for the Guinness Book of World Records through dance. And ever since, she has not relented on her oars
MAN SENTENCED TO 45 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR STEALING GOVERNOR'S PHONE
An Osogbo High Court yesterday sentenced a 31-year-old man, Kelvin Igha-Igbodalo to 45 years imprisonment without an option of fine for stealing a Sony Ericson phone belonging to Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola.
Igha-Igbodalo is alleged to have stolen Aregbesola’s phone during the swearing-in ceremony of the governor in 2010. The convict used the phone to dupe many unsuspecting people by directing them to pay money into a particular bank account on pretext that it was the governor's directive. Click to continue.
The ex-convict was eventually arrested and charged with six counts of conspiracy, obtaining properties by false pretence, stealing, impersonation and advance free fraud. Igha-Igbodalo pleaded guilty to the charges slammed against him and Justice Oyejide Falola sentenced him to 45 years imprisonment to run concurrently without an option of fine.
Daily Trust learnt that the ex-convict had earlier served six years imprisonment at Ikoyi prison in Lagos over a murder charge leveled against him.
According to the charge sheet, “Kelvin and others now at large in May 24th, 2011 impersonated the governor by using his phone with intent to defraud, and obtained the sum of N500,000 from his royal majesty, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, Owa-Obokun of Ijesha land”.
The prosecution, Mr. Biodun Badiora, told the court that the convict committed an offence contrary to section 8(c) and is punishable under section 1(3) of the Advance Free Fraud and other related offences Act, 2006.
Counsel to the convict, Mr. Ameachi Ngwu, prayed the court to commit the convict to community service.
WHY COMEDIAN SAKA LEFT ETISALAT FOR MTN
The real reason popular TV personality and comedian, the man popularly known as Saka dumped Etisalat for a rival telecoms brand, MTN, has been revealed.
Saka who has been the most prominent brand ambassador for Etisalat defected to MTN in what insiders say is a multi-million-naira deal.
Though, details are still sketchy, sources say the decision by Saka to dump Etisalat for MTN was not unconnected with the mouth watering deal he got through the assistance of a frontline Lagos agency and now the comedian is smiling to the bank.
“Happy times are here for Saka, the major face behind Etisalat ad campaigns. He is now working for MTN and henceforth he will feature prominently in all MTN brand campaigns as the war between the networks rages.
I can assure you that Saka was handsomely paid for the new deal. When the MTN offer was made to him, it was huge and irresistible, so he fell for it, ” an insider told Skoops.
I STARTED MY MINISTRY WITH 50 KOBO--BISHOP IDAHOSA
In every way, the growth of the Pentecostal ministry headed by Bishop
Isaac Idahosa is a sure proof of the scripture that if a believer has
faith as small as a mustard seed, the person can certainly move
mountains. The ministry he heads, which started from a jinxed and
abandoned property in Minna, Niger State has grown and is impacting
lives. In the same vein, his marriage that has lasted for 21 years is a
study in marital harmony based on the solid word of God. In the run up
the 21st anniversary of his marriage, Bishop Idahosa took out time talk
about the journey in ministry.
How did your journey into ministry happen?
My surname ‘Idahosa’ means to hear from God. I had this strong urge to know God right from a tender age. That was what took me to the bible school in 1985. I went to bible school just to acquire knowledge not because I wanted to become a pastor. Before then I was working, and leaving with one of my mentors, Bishop Solomon Akapyen in the north. We were born and brought up in the north. After attending bible school I went to complete my education on Niger State government scholarship. After school I felt no peace; I didn’t seek paid employment. There was a divine urge to go and work in the vineyard but the problem was that I wanted to go to Jos. The weather was nice and there was no religious upheaval at the time. But God said I must return to where I was brought up. So I went back to Niger State; I didn’t have any money. In fact, when I got to Minna I had only 50k. But I told God that I would the 50 kobo to showcase Him to the world.
50 kobo?
Yes, 50 kobo was the amount I had when I got to Minna with an intention to start a ministry. We had family friend called Idowu Maya and his wife. They offered to give me their boy’s quarters. I got to Minna with my bass guitar because I love to sing. In the evenings I would just be playing my guitar and singing. This attracted the youths to me. Gradually, the boy’s quarters filled up and I told them I needed a bigger space. We went in search of accommodation for the ministry; they never knew I had just 50 kobo. That 50 kobo I didn’t have reason to spend it. God was just bringing money from here
and there. We saw a four bedroom flat and they said I should pay N6000 to rent the apartment. This was in 1989. I didn’t have the N6,000 but the people I was living with thought I had the money. I told them we were coming back to pay. On our way back home we saw an abandoned building that had an inscription, ‘Gospel House’ and the Holy Spirit just ministered that it was where I should start the ministry. The land swampy and nobody lived there. I told my hosts that the ministry would take off from there. They thought something was wrong with me. We went in search of the owner of that property and learnt that one Justice Shadare who presided over the case involving the house ran mad. The other person who lived there also ran mad. For this reason, it was abandoned. The place had no louvers and no doors. I went to look for the person in charge of the place and heard that it was Justice Awoniyi. He was the then chief judge of Niger state. He was shocked that a young man like me wanted to run mad too. I told him what God said to me; he said if I was convinced about what I said, I should go and take the place for free. We went to clear the place and took possession on August 25, 1989. This year will be 24 years since we moved into the place. That was how we got the name God First Ministry (aka Illumination Assembly). We started with so much zeal. We had students and news started spreading about the church and within one month we had over 60 members. We had people coming to church for different reasons and God was enlarging our coast.
