CAR DOOR SLITS PASSENGERS THROAT WHILE FIGHTING OVER 10 PESEWAS


A resident of Kumasi in the Ashanti region met his untimely death when the door of a commercial vehicle slit his throat whilst demanding for his change of 10 pesewas.
The incident happened at Sepe-Buokrom in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, Luv News’ Erastus Asare Donkor reports.
According to Eratus, eyewitnesses said thebpassenger had an argument with the driver’s mate over a change. He said when the man alighted from the car, he held the door of the car through the passengers’ widow and insisted on getting the change of 10p.
But the driver, an eyewitness said, in a fit of anger moved the vehicle at a top speed, but unfortunately the edges of the door slit the passenger’s throat forcing the vocal cord to gush out in the process.
He died instantly, Erastus reported.
Meanwhile, the driver whose name was given as Kwabena Owusu Ansah has handed himself to the Asawase police who are investigating the case.
In an unrelated development, Acting Inspector- General of Police Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan has met with police commanders in the Ashanti Region to find solution to recent state of insecurity in the region.
This follows seven gruesome killings in Kumasi over the last two weeks. The IGP was in Kumasi to get firsthand appraisal of the security situation and discuss measures to deal with the
situation.
Meanwhile security experts have made a strong call on the Ashanti Regional police command to double efforts in ensuring the garden city is safe
