Last Saturday, 22 June, 2013, the Oba of Benin Kingdom, Oba
Erediawa, Marks his 90th birthday in style.
Benin City received dignitaries from all over the country to
celebrate the ancient Oba of Benin Kingdom. The Edo State governor, Comrade
Adams Oshiomole was present and even though the king was absent from the
celebration due to health issues, his son, Crown Prince Eheneden Erediawa,
represented him through the event and the Oba's presence was felt all through
the occasion. The cake was white and adorned with beads which symbolize purity
of the monarchy.
there was a re-launch of a book written by the monarch, 'I
Remain Sir, Your Loyal Servant'
His queens who are rarely seen in public were led by Olori
Esther Erediawa and they were gorgeously dressed and surrounded by maids
